Illuminating Shadeaus
Illuminating Shadeaus is a chandelier LED art installation.
The piece is black and white when inert. Thirteen white rings hang at 9 different levels, seemingly disjointed, from black strings springing from a black and white canvas above. When powered the rings come to life with color; many bright, swirling images flow through the creation with varying patterns and effects. It takes a small switch in perspective, looking from below up at the piece, to see all the rings, though not physically touching, are undeniably interconnected. The piece transforms from a stark black and white disconnected forms to a deliberate yet from structure of interwoven color.
Illuminating Shadeaus sits 15 feet wide, 6 feet tall, and contains roughly 3,000 LEDs. It was unveiled at Burning Man 2015.
